What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it?

Mandatory Data.

During purchase you must provide the Microsoft ID that you will use to access our products. For desktop products you will also need to provide an encrypted thumbprint of the machine on which you will use our product. We will retain these while you have an active subscription to use one of our products.

For license purposes you will need to give us the legal entity where the product will be used and a categorization of its business type and sector to assist us in understanding where our products are seen as most useful.

Finally for legal purposes we collect your full name and address/ country so that we can ensure we are compliant with the tax laws of your location. This information is mandatory for you to purchase one of our products.

Other data.

We also ask for your phone number, the type of business you work for and the sector you are working in. These will be used for our internal Sales Analysis and to help you get the most from our products.

Who do we share your data with?

We may share your data with Sister Companies and Consultancy Partners listed on our site. We will not share your details with any other individual or organization.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

If you leave comments on our site, after approval of your comment, any profile picture you provide will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

What rights do you have over your data?

If you have an account on our site, you can request, once per year, to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. Removal of mandatory elements for product purchase will prevent you from using our cloud based services so if you confirm such a request it will be taken as your agreement to cancel any active subscriptions that you have. Note that we are obliged to keep data on sales for legal purposes and this cannot be erased during a statutory period. Our policy is to keep this data for five years.
